CEA Technologies appoints new CEO

The CEA Technologies (CEA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Alan Clements AM CSC as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Clements joins the company at an important stage in its evolution as a Government Business Enterprise, bringing extensive leadership experience across defence, industry and government. He will lead the company as it continues to deliver critical sovereign capability in support of Australia’s strategic defence priorities, with a strong focus on program delivery, innovation, research and development, and sustainable growth.
Mr Clements is a highly experienced and respected senior executive with a proven track record in complex delivery, defence technology, capability development and organisational transformation. His leadership experience spans senior roles across both industry and defence, where he has led large-scale operations in complex and strategically significant environments.
Prior to joining CEA, Mr Clements was Vice President of L3Harris Technologies Australia and New Zealand, where he led the company’s strategic growth, supporting capability delivery and expanding export opportunities. Before joining industry, he served for more than three decades in the Royal Australian Air Force, retiring at the rank of Air Vice-Marshal. His senior defence appointments included Australia’s Defence Attaché to the United States and Commandant of the Australian Defence Force Academy, where he led reforms to improve officer education and organisational culture. During his career he was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia and a Conspicuous Service Cross in recognition of his leadership and service over many years.
The Chair of the Board, Ms Joycelyn Morton, said Mr Clements’ appointment followed a comprehensive and transparent recruitment process.
“Alan is an outstanding leader with significant experience across defence and industry bringing a strong understanding of the strategic environment in which CEA operates,” Ms Morton said.
“His proven ability to oversee complex organisations, deliver capability outcomes and build strong relationships across government and the broader defence sector makes him exceptionally well placed to lead CEA.
“The Board is confident Alan will build on the company’s strong foundations and continue to strengthen its contribution to Australia’s sovereign defence capability.”
Mr Clements said he was honoured to join the company at such an important time.

Mr Clements will commence as Chief Executive Officer on 1 June 2026.
