CEA Apprentice Information Night | 6 August 2025

CEA is looking for our next generation of skilled electronics professionals, with applications open for our January 2026 Apprentice Program intake. Are you curious about an apprenticeship at CEA? We will be hosting an Apprentice Information Night in Canberra on 6 August 2025, to share more about these opportunities.

Our Information Night provides insight into CEA and our apprentice career pathway. We are looking for individuals with a passion for problem solving and strong mathematical ability to explore a career in electronics and communications. Our program offers:

Hands-on experience in real-world environments. You will learn critical skills in the installation, set up, testing, fault finding, repair, and maintenance of electronics and communications equipment at a component and sub-assembly level.

One-on-one mentorship from subject matter experts. You will receive support from tutors here at CEA throughout your apprenticeship, who are always happy to help.

Competitive remuneration. At CEA, apprentices earn wages which enable them to focus on gaining the skills and expertise required to complete their Certificate III in Electronics and Communications, a nationally recognised qualification. CEA also covers our apprentices’ tuition costs, and provides a laptop for use when studying.

Extensive career growth opportunities. A typical apprenticeship will take 4 years to complete, and is supported by MEGT (Service Provider), CIT (Registered Training Organisation) and CEA (your employer). Once completed, this qualification is nationally recognised and enables you to gain meaningful employment.

As an apprentice, you will experience rotational placements across our specialist teams and enjoy the benefits of CEA’s Remuneration and Conditions of Employment Package, which reflects our commitment to your growth and our collective success. It is about ensuring that CEA continues to be a place where you can thrive, achieve work-life balance, and have a clear understanding of your career trajectory. Some of the perks include:

• An entry salary of $75,000 for all full-time employees (including apprentices), establishing CEA as a leading and progressive employer.

• 30 days per year of annual leave entitlements, providing more time for rest and personal pursuits.

• A standard 38 hour work week, helping to prioritise life outside of work.

• Employer superannuation contributions of 14%.

• A structured job levelling and performance increment system, making your career path and potential salary progression clear and highly competitive.

We invite you to attend the Information Night to learn how this Program could be the start of a rewarding and meaningful career.
